Ahead of his home race at the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend, four-time Formula One world champion Max Verstappen has signed a contract extension that will keep him with Oracle Red Bull Racing until the end of 2030, giving both driver and team four more seasons to chase even more victories and championships together.
For Verstappen, who has been part of the Red Bull family since joining the Junior Programme in 2014, the decision is all about continuing with the people and team he knows best – and returning to the top of Formula One.
“I am really pleased with the contract extension,” said Verstappen. “We have the best people and I’m excited to keep working together with everyone to get back to the top again. This remains the ultimate goal that all of us have been working towards and will continue to pursue.
"I want to thank Red Bull, Laurent and everyone at Oracle Red Bull Racing for the trust they put in me."

Max Verstappen and Oracle Red Bull Racing: A decade-long partnership
Verstappen's relationship with the team stretches back more than a decade. After joining the Red Bull Junior Programme in 2014, he stepped up to Oracle Red Bull Racing in 2016 and famously won on his team debut at the Spanish Grand Prix. Since then, he has become one of the defining drivers of his generation, with a connection to the team that goes far beyond results.
“I have always said it: the Team is like a second family for me and I feel very at home,” he said. “I came to the Team hoping to be able to win races. What we went on to achieve together has been simply lovely and we have shared many incredible moments and won four World Championships.
“To continue this journey with the same Team that I have been with my whole career is really special and something I have always wanted to do.”

The announcement comes at a fitting moment, with Verstappen preparing for his home Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. The 2026 race will be the final Dutch Grand Prix at the circuit, giving an already special weekend extra significance.
“To make this announcement during the last Grand Prix at Zandvoort is a great moment for me as well,” Verstappen added. “Hopefully we can give the fans a special send-off for the final race.”

Writing Oracle Red Bull Racing's next chapter
Verstappen's new deal comes at an important time for Oracle Red Bull Racing, with Red Bull Ford Powertrains in its first season as an F1 power unit manufacturer and Laurent Mekies leading the team.
“Getting to work with Laurent now for over a year has also been great, I see a clear vision he has for the Team,” said Verstappen. “Everyone in Milton Keynes believes in what we are building and I am looking forward to the next chapter, fighting for more victories and competing for championships.”
Mekies described the extension as “fantastic news”, highlighting the trust built between driver and team.
“Very few partnerships in sport achieve what Max and this Team have,” he said. “His impact on our Team and on Red Bull’s motorsport story has been transformational.”

Four titles, 71 wins – and counting

His record with Red Bull already puts the partnership among the most successful in Formula One history. Since joining the team in 2016, Verstappen has helped deliver two Constructors' Championships while winning four consecutive Drivers' World Championships between 2021 and 2024. He and the team have also celebrated 71 Grand Prix victories together.
Now, with his future secured through to 2030, Verstappen's focus is firmly on adding to those numbers.
As he puts it, the goal remains simple: get back to the top and fight for more championships.
