Monro takes Jarreau Vandal to a dark place
The London club producer and Geeneus protégé twists the Soulection producer’s new single Make You Love Me into a twilit torch song – hear it exclusively on RedBull.com.
Last month, Monro made his debut on Rinse with Motion, a woozy melding of trap, electronica and dubstep shot through with a cinematic sense of drama. Now, the UK club producer – who has also produced for fellow Rinse artists Katy B and Sinead Harnett – is back with a remix of Jarreau Vandal’s Make You Love Me that buffets the original’s limber electro-soul with glitching beats and huge waves of strobing synth.

Says Monro:
“I had just finished my EP Motion and the team at Rinse asked if I wanted to do a remix of Make You Love Me. As soon as I heard the tune I loved it and knew I could take it to another world sonically. I’m glad I got to put my own spin on it. The remix is a lot darker and I like how it contrasts the original to make them two completely separate pieces of work, so you can enjoy both individually.”
