Some riders enjoy the uphill efforts or 'push-ups' to the beginning of a trail that usually comes with mountain biking, but if you want to get as many runs as possible out of the day, then an uplift service is worth it. Uplift service is usually run by a bike park or contracted by them to give riders and their bikes a lift to the top of the trails, so you can then spend all your energy on the downhills.
The mountain bike trails in Wales tend to be set on some pretty big mountains, so uplift service is a must. Here are five great bike parks and centres in Wales with a smooth uplift operation.

1. Dyfi Bike Park, Esgair Forest, Snowdonia

Dan Atherton's latest creation is built in the heart of Snowdonia in the Dyfi Forest – hence the name Dyfi Bike Park. The 650 acre bike park is the definition of 'big mountain riding', with four black-graded tracks handcrafted by Dan himself. If you've ever seen the Red Bull Hardline track in action – also built by Dan – then you know you're in for a thrill-ride.

Want to go full send? Try the 50 Hits trail, with fast rollers and fly-offs leading to a stream of massive jumps. Feeling confident? Then the Slab track with huge corners, steep chutes and rock rollers could be the one for you. The Original DH and Race Line tracks offer more traditional downhill lines, with plenty of big features to keep the heart rate up.
Uplift is available on weekends, starting at £36, and you can book on www.dyfibikepark.co.uk
