Gaming
For the past few years, myClub has proved to be one of the most popular modes in Pro Evolution Soccer, allowing players to create a collectable team of superstars. In PES 2019, the mode has undergone a significant overhaul, making adjustments to aspects such as the menus, ranking systems and even how players are acquired.
There are plenty of new features to get to grips with, so whether you’re brand new to the series or you’re jumping in for the first time with PES 2019, here are our top tips for achieving success in the world of myClub.
1. Complete objectives
The first task at hand once you’ve completed the tutorial is to start wading through your objectives. You’ll find these in the myClub Records screen, and they encompass everything from playing matches to signing new players. Many of these initial challenges award myClub Points, an invaluable source of currency that can prove essential early on. Get as many of these objectives completed as you can to give you a head start.
2. Hire a new manager
In myClub, managers possess skill levels. You build up their level by equipping your squad with players, and the more skilled the player, the quicker you’ll reach it. Unfortunately, the most basic managers suffer from low skill levels, and your Team Spirit takes a hit if you surpass their rating. So, use GP or some of those objective-earned myClub coins to buy a good manager, and don’t forget to upgrade them regularly via the Manager menu.
3. Join the Weekly PES League
If you’re a returning PES fan, you might have noticed that Divisions has disappeared this year. In its place is the Weekly PES League – a system for earning GP based on your performances in ranked matches. Firstly, you need to complete 10 ranked matches in myClub. Then, go to the Weekly PES League tab and you’ll be entered into a division. Win games and you’ll earn points, which equates to more weekly GP and promotions to better leagues.
4. Train your squad wisely
Every player at your disposal in myClub can be trained. This can be done by playing them in games, collecting Special Trainers and converting unwanted players into EXP trainers. In the case of the latter, there’s a lot to gain. Assigning an EXP trainer to a more talented member of your squad can provide them with a huge boost, particularly if both players share the same characteristics. It’s a much better alternative to simply releasing them.
5. Save your contract tickets
As well as acquiring new players via agents, you’ll also need to spend your GP on player contracts. This can prove quite costly in the long run, particularly in the case of higher-skilled players who command more lucrative fees. In this instance, your best bet is to utilise free contract tickets, renewing your best players' deals at no additional cost. These tickets can be obtained via gameplay rewards, objectives and occasional bonuses.
6. Play the competitions
The ‘What’s On’ section of the menu is updated on a weekly basis, adding new competitions for players to compete in. Usually, you’re set to earn a silver-or-greater (level 1) player from these tournaments, but this can extend to gold and even guaranteed black ball stars. Either way, it’s a good idea to complete each of these online and offline competitions every week, allowing you to earn new players and GP as you go.
7. Scout new players
At the conclusion of each match, you’ll earn scouts of varying grades. These can be used to acquire new players, but don’t rush to use them too quickly. If you want to increase your chances of getting the best stars, you can narrow the odds by combining your scouts. The database in the Scout menu tells you which combinations you need for certain players, and if needs be, you can then use the Auction House to purchase the extra scouts you require.
8. Earn GP through offline modes
PES 2019 is surprisingly generous when it comes to dishing out GP. You can earn around 100k of in-game currency simply by playing the game, so spend your time sampling everything from Training to Master League. The key to this is variation – you'll earn GP for trying new celebrations and skill moves, as well as visiting different menus. You can also sim seasons in Master League and Become a Legend to speed up the process.
