Rachel Atherton POV Foxhunt 2015
As anticipated, tickets to compete at Foxhunt sold out in record time! If you were one of the lucky ones who successfully registerd to ride, check out more detail about the event and what the weekend will hold below.
You can follow all the news and highlights from Red Bull Foxhunt 2016 here.
Where is it?
Melmerby Scar, Eden Valley, Cumbria
When is it? 1-2 October 2016
How much does it cost to enter? £40
What’s included in the entry fee? The entry fee includes on-site camping from Friday night through to Sunday and two meals on each race day – lunch and an evening meal on Saturday and a hearty breakfast and lunch on the Sunday.
Who can enter? The competition is open to anyone of all abilities aged 16 or over (under 18s must have consent from a parent or guardian)
What’s the course like? The course is approximately 2km long and has a descent of 320m. A full downhill rig won’t be necessary for the course, but you can ride one if you want to! A full suspension, all-mountain bike will be adequate, but the course will be rideable (though potentially less fun) on a hard tail. Full-face helmets are not compulsory, so you can choose whether you’d prefer to wear a full-face or a trail helmet. Body armour is advised but not compulsory.
What’s the race process? Qualifiers will take place on Saturday, October 1 between 9am – 5pm. This is to determine your position on the start line for the main event. All riders who complete the time-trial qualifiers will be taken through to the main race, which will take place on Sunday, October 2 between 9am – 5pm.
