Team Brooklands Special have stormed to victory at Red Bull Soapbox Race London 2017 after blasting down the hill at London’s iconic Alexandra Palace.
The team stunned the crowds with their vintage-themed dance routine, earning a near-perfect performance score from the judges – snowboarder Katie Ormerod, racing driver Andrew Jordan, grime artist Blakie and 2015 Red Bull Soapbox Race podium finisher Tony Whitelaw – before rocking down the hill in a lickety-split 35.39 seconds.

We thought there must have been a mistake
"It’s a bit surreal really," said Team Brooklands Special driver Keith Rose after the win. "We thought we’d like to be in the top 10. Then there were rumours that were in the top three… Then they said we’d won! We thought there must have been a mistake… "
Second on the day were 24 Seconds of Le Ally Pally, an official entry from Aston Martin Racing with their impeccable scaled-down Vantage V8 GTE racer, while third went to Team Rockin’ Rolla with their Indiana Jones-themed kart.
Meanwhile the People’s Choice award, voted for by the public, went to Team Must Dash and their incredible Lancaster Bomber soapbox racer.
