Warframe’s Fortuna update is absolutely huge, and the icy wildlands of the Orb Vallis are brimming with exciting, new features that both veterans and new players can enjoy. There has never been a better time to jump into Digital Extremes’ futuristic world, and the latest update is not only the biggest, it’s also the best we’ve seen from Warframe since its launch.
Similar to the gathering bazaar of Cetus in Plains of Eidolon, Fortuna is a trading hub where Solaris workers live out their days working for the Corpus. As a result, life is incredibly hard for those that live in the underground city of Fortuna and liberating the city won’t be an easy task. However, we’ve put together a handy tips guide that will help you obtain the K-Drive Hoverboard, farm faction standing, obtain rare materials, and build deadly weapons that you can use against the Corpus threat.

1. Get access to the Archwing

While travelling around the Orb Vallis on the K-Drive hoverboard may be great fun, it’s certainly not the fastest way to get around the map. Bounties usually require you to go to several locations that are dotted around the map and getting to each location can take a fair amount of time. Thankfully, you can reduce this travel time by completing the Archwing questline and obtaining the Archwing Launcher Segment from your Clan Dojo in the Tenno Lab.
Once the Archwing Launcher Segment has been installed in the Foundry you can craft the Archwing Launcher. The Launcher allows you to use your Archwing in the Orb Vallis, the Plains of Eidolon, and other space-faring missions. You can obtain the majority of the items you need (50x Iradite, 50x Grokdrul, 30x Fish Oil) on the Plains of Eidolon, so make sure you take the time to craft this item if you wish to reduce your galactic commute.

2. Upgrade your K-Drive hoverboard

The Archwing may offer the fastest way to get around the snowy lands of Orb Vallis, but it doesn’t allow you to live out your dreams of owning a hoverboard. Thankfully, the Solaris have come up with a nifty way to reduce your travel time, while also allowing you to channel your inner Marty McFly. After completing the Vox Solaris quest, you’ll be given access to a shiny new hoverboard that will allow you to effortlessly traverse the icy waters and frozen fields without breaking a sweat.
The K-Drive doesn’t just deliver breakneck speeds, it also gives adventurous Tenno the opportunity to carry out death-defying tricks as they go about their Corpus killing business. Of course, being the best skater in the galaxy comes with a little practice, and you’ll need to be at your best if you wish to impress Warframe’s freshest faction.
The Ventkids are orphans of Fortuna, and they spend their time creating new K-Drive components that can be used to both enhance and customise your hoverboard. However, the children of the vents won’t give this stuff away freely – in fact, you’ll need to impress them with your hoverboard skills if you wish to unlock the very best upgrades from Roky.
Taking part in Fortuna’s race courses can net you some decent standing, but the fastest method requires you to unleash your inner Tony Hawk. Performing flips and grinds rewards you with big chunks of standing, especially when you pass through a trick multiplier token.
One of the best places to grind Ventkid standing is at the Pearl, which can be found on the Western point of the Orb Vallis. Once there, simply kill all nearby hostile enemies and proceed to grind around the circular structure, mixing in a few spins every time you jump. Just be sure to jump off the structure when you have reached 150 points, as the multiplier will net you the maximum 3,000 upon landing. Simply rinse and repeat until you have all the K-Drive parts that you could possibly want.

3. Earn Solaris United standing

As you explore the icy vistas of the Orb Valiss, you’ll naturally start to acquire syndicate standing with Fortuna’s half-human rebels, Solaris United. Making merry and earning syndicate standing with this ragtag band of robotic rebels is incredibly important as it’s the main currency used to both purchase and unlock new items. Whether you’re mining, fishing, gun crafting or helping with the local animal conservation efforts, you’ll need Solaris United standing to purchase equipment for these activities.
The best ways to boost your syndicate standing is to complete bounties for Eudico. Bounties are randomly generated quests that the player must complete in order to receive both rewards and syndicate standing. These missions vary in difficulty and refresh every 138 minutes, so be prepared to put in the work when facing Fortuna’s more challenging objectives. Before you set off on your Corpus killing quest, make sure you hover over each bounty to see what rewards you will get. Be sure to prioritise any bounties that drop the blueprint pieces for Garuda, as these will allow you to craft Digital Extremes’ latest frame.

4. Get Kitgun parts after some futuristic fishing

Fighting hordes of Corpus troops and delivering bounties to Eudico can be rather stressful at times, so it’s important to take a little breather and unwind with a spot of futuristic fishing. Head to Fortuna and fast travel to an NPC called The Business. This robotic fellow will allow you to purchase the Shockprod Fishing Spear and Tranq Rifle, which can be purchased with syndicate standing you’ve earned from Eudico’s bounties.
The type of fish and animals you can find all depend on the Orb Vallis’ cold and warm cycle, so if you’re looking to catch or hunt a particular species, then make sure you check which cycle the world is currently in.
Mechanised fish can be found throughout the icy waters of the Orb Vallis and can be caught and reeled in with the Shockprod Fishing Spear. Simply throw the spear at the fish you wish to catch and hit the action button when the indicator is within the red bracket.
Once you’ve caught a bunch of fish, head back to Fortuna and locate an NPC called Rude Zuud. Zuud can use your mechanised haul to craft modular secondary firearms, so be sure to visit him whenever you catch anything. Kitguns are formed from three different components (chamber, grip, loader) and can be customised in any way, offering different stats and abilities that are unique to that particular gun.

5. Mine for rare materials

Orb Vallis is absolutely brimming with all kinds of wildlife and unique materials that can only be obtained through exploration. While fishing and animal preservation offer some good ways to get resources, you’ll need to go mining if you wish to build new items and trade for standing with the Solaris United faction.
Before you start going on cave expeditions make sure you purchase the Sunpoint Plasma Drill from Smokefinger and equip it in your gear wheel. Finding the cave entrances can be a little tricky, but the amount of ore and gems you can find in and around them is worth the extra time needed to locate them.
When equipped, the mining drill will help you locate ore deposits by letting off a beeping noise that will gradually increase as you get closer. Once you find the mining node, simply locate the blue dots and start drilling. If you want to maximise your rewards, stop mining when you’re in the middle of the bracket as this will net you the largest amount of items. Some nodes will feature an even smaller bracket, so you’ll need to stay within this area if you want to get the randomised bonus. It can take a few attempts before you get the hang of mining, but with a little practice, you’ll be farming bounties of ore and precious gems.
