Whether it's technical XC, muddy cyclo-cross or gruelling road races, Kata can do it all to a world-class level, which makes her a rare talent and one of female cycling's hottest commodities.
Born into a family of avid mountain bikers, Kata has been amassing titles in her native Hungary in all three disciplines since childhood and has been winning titles on the international stage since 2018, when she won the gold medal in the criterium at the Youth Olympic Games in Argentina.
U23 cyclo-cross and cross-country world championships medals followed her junior successes, but it was Kata's performances at the during the 2021 season that really turned heads, with fourth in Tokyo and the road world champs in Belgium in her first elite level races followed by a first UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup win in the classic Vlaamse Druivencross.
Whether she chooses to continue mixing all three disciplines, or two, or opts to focus solely on road racing in the future, it's clear that Kata Blanka Vas is going to be a major threat for titles wherever she goes.
