FIA Formula 2

Nikola Tsolov began karting at the age of nine and soon started winning both national and continental championships. Crowned Mini class champion of Bulgaria in 2016 and 2017, he soon started making waves on the international racing circuit.
In 2019, he won the Italian WSK Open Cup against 60 racers, following which Spanish F1 legend Fernando Alonso invited Nikola to drive alongside him in the 24-hour endurance race in Dubai in 2021, where they finished third.

Early success in Formula racing

In 2022, Nikola gained his first single-seater experience in the F4 Spanish Championship. The Bulgarian dominated in his debut campaign, claiming 13 wins from 21 races and scoring 400 points to seal the championship with a round to spare.

Impressing in Formula 3

This success paved the way for a move to the FIA Formula 3, where Nikola became the youngest driver on the grid in 2023, driving for the ART team. In his debut campaign, he twice finished in the points in sprint races.
The following season Nikola showed his speed as he secured three victories and finished 11th in the overall standings. He then joined Campos Racing for 2025 and delivered another outstanding campaign.
Across the season, Nikola consistently finished in the points as he finished in second place overall. He also made a piece of history, becoming the first ever driver to achieve five FIA Formula 3 wins after taking a light-to-flag victory in the Monte Carlo feature race.

Graduating to FIA Formula 2

In late 2025, Nikola was handed his F2 debut as he replaced Pepe Martí at Campos Racing for the closing two rounds of the season. On his debut in Lusail he qualified in seventh and then in Abu Dhabi finished third in the sprint race to claim his first podium in F2.
Having earned a full-time seat in F2 for 2026, it didn't take Nikola long to make waves as he secured victory in the opening round Feature Race in Melbourne, becoming the first Bulgarian driver to win in FIA Formula 2.
Nikola continued to build momentum throughout the season, producing a historic weekend at Silverstone in July. After snatching Sprint Race victory with a final-lap overtake, he dominated the Feature Race to complete a remarkable double. The two wins extended his run to three consecutive victories, making him the first driver in FIA Formula 2 history to achieve the feat.
