Date to be confirmed

Due to the current long-range swell forecast, organisers have announced that Red Bull Cape Fear window will close on July 31 instead of its planned closing on August 15.

Red Bull prides itself on delivering best-in-class events, and up until this point unfortunately we have not seen swell conditions suitable to run the event.

Further to this, and most importantly, we have to place the safety of the competitors, our staff and wider community at the forefront, and due to the current Covid-19 situation, we feel we are unable to run the event without compromising this.

The event that changed the face of big wave slab surfing as we know it returns to Shipsterns Bluff in 2021, Tasmania's home of slab surfing. Can 2016 champion Russell Bierke reign supreme once again, will Tasmania's local unsung heroes claim the throne or will a new name enter the hall of fame and which charger is set to take the first female crown?
The event window for 2021 is from March through to August. Shipstern Bluff is one of the most iconic waves in surfing. It's hidden deep in the cracks and crevices of Tasmania, buried at the foot of the towering cliffs from which it is named. When the right conditions hit and the event is called on, 23 of Australia's best slab surfers will take on one of the most difficult breaks live on Red Bull TV.
