Master League has always been a hugely addictive feature of Pro Evolution Soccer. Getting stuck in and spending all year playing with your favourite team (or even just one that you think might be fun to be managed) and taking them to the top before moving on to the next challenge is one of the most rewarding feelings in gaming.
It's very easy, though, to fall into the routine of selecting a big money team and buying the best players. The strangely satisfying feeling of seeing Ronaldo or Messi in a Manchester United shirt might be good at first, but eventually you need more, and this is where youth comes in. Scouting a player, noticing a stat that you can nurture and grow ultimately becomes the truly rewarding way to be successful. Taking the reigns of a team that you know has a weakness and finding a young player who'll make that difficult spot his own and grow from a 75 overall rating to a beastly 90-plus is the real game, right?
Lucky for you, we're here to nudge you in the right direction and tell you who to consider. These young players can be world class stars if you treat them right.

L. Giorza (RB)

We tried Giorza in our Liverpool squad when we were struggling to find a future right back. He starts at 70, but seems to slot into the style of lightning fast counter-attacking football that the team prefer to play. Despite being so young (he's 19), Giorza already seems quick, strong in the tackle and can cross the ball. He develops quickly if you give him game time, so make him your right back for the season and watch him get better with each match.

K. Mbappe (CF)

Sometimes you just have to accept that a player is wanted in the real world for a reason. Mbappe is disturbingly good at dribbling (85) and is quick to boot, with 91 speed and 93 explosive power. Watch his stats skyrocket before they level out and you can then turn him into an absurdly good finisher, or keep him as a second striker behind a stronger player.
He won't be cheap because he's already a known brand in football, but Mbappe is worth the investment if you intend to be sticking with Master League for a while. At the end of the day he's already 83 rated, so you're not getting him for a steal.

J. Brandt (LMF)

Currently with German team Leverkusen, Brandt is a 21-year-old left midfielder already rated at 81 overall. He's considered a prolific winger and with his 87 dribbling and 85 speed, we can see why. He's one of those players who, if you don't snap him up, someone else almost certainly will. He gains player skills at a fast rate and loves to play in a team that enjoys lots of possession. He's a flexible winger and one you should definitely be considering if you need a young player to take over from older statesman who's gradually ageing out of your team.

M. Kean (CF)

Now we're talking. A 17-year-old Italian striker that can truly become a superstar. Kean loves to dribble (80) and is already very fast, with 83 speed and 84 explosive power, but interestingly he also has 80 for physical contact. At just shy of 6 foot, this means he's a strong, quick centre forward who is young enough that you can develop him in any way you see fit.
Even after half a season he's happy with counter attacking, the possession game, long and short passing, can play wide or in the centre, and can be flexible or maintain a rigid formation. Sign this player.

A. Christensen (CB)

A centre back who's a free agent, 21-years-old, and 78 rated? Yes please. Christensen will cost you nothing if you sign him at the start of your career as a manager and although he's pushing the boundaries of young player age, you can easily get him above 80 rated within a few seasons. He has 90 for ball winning and 85 for defensive prowess, and in our first season Chelsea beat us to signing him. Don't skimp the cash when it comes to signing him, as he can end up your key centre back for years to come.

R. Sanches (CMF)

In real life, Sanches plays for Premier League side Swansea City and isn't actually having a terrific season, but in PES he's rated at 79, only 21-years-old and will jump up to 81 within half a season if you use him right. He has excellent ball control, dribbling skills and even 81 defensive prowess. Top this with 86 physical contact, 85 strength on the ball, 82 speed and 87 explosive power, and you've a very well rounded 21-year-old. As if that weren't enough, his 85 stamina means he'll have no trouble playing lots of matches.
Get him signed, get him training on his weaker foot, finishing and try to get him to master positions like AMF and LMF/RMF, and you'll have one of the best, most versatile young midfielders you can buy.

M. Asensio (AMF)

At 21-years-old, Asensio is already 82 rated, but by the time we'd signed him halfway through the first season and played him a bit, he was already at 84 and we'd raised his ball control up to 90. He's very much a player in the Coutinho mould, able to control a game with his passing, but to get the best possible player we'd suggest getting him training on his speed and power. It's worth noting that he won't come cheap because he plays for Real Madrid, but we grabbed him in the first January window for 20 million while Real Madrid were busy picking up other superstars.

A. Lafont or G. Donnarumma (GK)

We've listed these keepers together because they're both ideal young players to sign. However, Donnarumma is the more developed player and because of that, he'll cost a lot of money to actually sign. Lafont is lower rated, but a bit younger and lesser known, and this means you have a chance of signing him for sensible money. At 18 and playing for Toulouse, he's still not going to be dirt cheap, but Donnarumma never really comes down in price.
Give Lafont a chance if you're not playing as a moneybags team and he'll give you a good few years, becoming one of the best keepers in the game in only a few seasons.
