Polish native Dawid 'Szamanek' Godziek began his riding career as an MTB Freestyle rider, following in the footsteps of his older brother Szymon. After four years of riding at the forefront of MTB Freestyle in Poland, he decided to make the move to BMX Freestyle, showing great aptitude and a natural talent in the sport.
Within a matter of months, at just 16 years old, Dawid had progressed at such a rapid pace that he was now considered one of the top European BMX pro riders in Dirt and Park, with great prospects for his international career.
One of his greatest performances came in 2014, when he rocked the tricky woodland track at VANS Kill the Line and walked away with the title.

Showcasing creativity

Known for his neat, smooth trick combos and barspins – including his notorious 360 Quad Barspin – Dawid dials in his moves at his home-built training track, which features two dirt lines, a training ramp, trampbike and a foam pit.
This helped Dawid post a world first in September 2018 when he landed a Quad Tailwhip at the Audi Nines MTB event in Germany. His creativity also helped him secure third at Crankworx British Columbia and Crankworx Innsbruck.

Crankworx success

He then won first place at Red Bull Roof Ride in 2021 and over the next few years became more and more of a regular fixture on the podium at Crankworx Slopestyle events.
In 2024, his dedication and hard work paid off as Dawid began to convert those podium places into victories, taking his first win at that year's Cairns event by defeating the reigning Triple Crown winner, Emil Johansson.
He then went on to repeat the victory in Innsbruck, before a thrilling second run score of 96.6 points saw him take a hat-trick of wins in Whistler to claim the Triple Crown of Slopestyle and finish the season as Crankworx FMBA Slopestyle World Champion.
More success arrived in 2026 as Dawid delivered a technically flawless run at Crankworx Rotorua, earning a score of 93.62 points and taking the victory.
