Red Bull Dance Your Style - Ireland
We welcome dancers from any street style, with audiences treated to hip-hop and, house, to locking and popping. DJs blast well-known tracks at random, challenging each dancer’s ability to perform and adapt their dance styles to the rhythm of the beat.
What sets Red Bull Dance Your Style apart from other dance competitions is the role played by the crowd. There is no panel of judges voting for the winner. Instead, the winner of each battle is decided on a crowd vote. The dancer’s musicality, movement, technicality, and creativity are key here. Ultimately, the dancer who wins the crowd wins the battle.
Auditions are open to all those who think they have what it takes, with two taking place regionally, in Cork and Dublin. The first audition takes place in Cork on Saturday, April 13th. All those who impress will advance to a regional qualifier in the Marina Market in Cork on Sunday, May 19th. For dancers based closer to Dublin, Drop Studio will host auditions on Saturday, June 15th. A selection of dancers will then progress on to the Dublin qualifiers, which follow on Saturday, July 13th, at Woodquay Amphitheatre. The Irish National Final will take place on Sunday, July 14th, also at Woodquay Amphitheatre.
