If you want to make an impact in FIFA 20’s Pro Clubs mode there are a couple of things you need to remember: don’t keep the sprint button held all the time or you’ll needlessly drain your stamina; where you are on the pitch when you don’t have the ball is just as significant as when you’re in possession; change up your attacks so the opposition can’t predict your every move. Before you develop your game, however, you need to build your pro.
Height, weight, chosen position – regardless of where they are on the field, everything needs to be taken into account even before you start assigning skill points to your brand new pro. To give you the best start, we’ve got a couple of tips and tricks for you when putting together your new world-beater.

Goalkeeper

Key Traits: GK Handling, GK Reflexes, GK Diving
Contrary to popular belief, some do actually want to play in goals. If that’s you, then set yourself up in Pro Clubs as a 6ft 4”, 176lbs keeper as it’s the most balanced build. If you lost a couple of pounds you’d gain unnecessary sprint speed while sacrificing some essential strength and balance.
With your points, the goalkeeping skill tree is obviously a great place to start. Upgrade your handling, diving and kicking first. Don’t neglect other aspects of your game, though: it’s important to improve your jumping for corners and the like. Passing, obviously, is also paramount to your success between the sticks.

Central Defender

Key Traits: Physical Specialty, Stand Tackle, Interceptions
A lot of Pro Clubs players have a tendency to play with smaller strikers, so to combat that you need to craft yourself a strong centre half: 6ft at 174lbs should do it. Any taller and you lose some crucial agility against quick attackers. On top of that, set your position to left or right fullback even when playing in the middle of defence. Your pace will take a big hit if you select CB as your position. Trust us.
Bump up your physical traits from the off so you can muscle nippy forwards off the ball; defending is, as you’d imagine, critical too. Also, agility and balance are important traits if you’re looking to embody a ball-playing defender.

Central Attacking Midfielder

Key Traits: Dribbling, Short Pass, Long Shots
Like the central defender build, the best CAM build starts by setting your position to one that isn’t CAM: choose either ST, LM or RM. The default attacking midfielder is both too slow and has poor shot power in FIFA 20. So, the best course of action is to pick any of the three aforementioned positions and go from there.
At 5ft 9", your strength remains acceptable, but your focus should be on getting into the box as support for your strikers – that's why we suggest a weight of between 99lbs and 119lbs. With your first 15 points you should focus on dribbling and acceleration, but once you’re rolling, dump plenty of points into pace, passing and shooting, too.

Key Traits: Ball Control, Sprint Speed, Agility
We prefer the daintier, energetic winger: 5ft 4” with a weight between 99lbs and 119lbs is perfect. You may worry that you’ll capitulate on a nasty tackle, but the idea is that you’ll be far too quick and adept at dribbling for any full-back that attempts a challenge.
Increase your pace characteristics as soon as possible. Again, the aim here is to create a player that will beat whoever is tracking their movements on the flank. Because of that, look to increase your ball control, agility and passing.

Striker

Key Traits: Dribbling, Finishing, Acceleration
To get you on the road to glory in Pro Clubs as a striker, shrink down to 5ft 6” and weigh in between 121-149lbs. Headers are virtually ineffective in FIFA 20, so the shorter build works because it focuses on speed and ball control.
Grab a ton of dribbling abilities, refine your finishing and bump up your acceleration for those runs in behind the opposition defences. When you have enough points, get yourself the second wind trait, too. With around 15 minutes to go in the match your player’s stamina will get a little shot, which is a huge advantage over tiring centre-halves.
