Marvel’s Spider-Man is a wonderful game, but the best thing about it has to be web-swinging around the city of New York in Spidey's array of different suits. Swinging from building to building is a good look anyway, but with 27 suits available for you to wear, you can make Spider-Man look truly amazing.
Some of the suits are tied to the comics, others the movies, while some have been created by the team at Insomniac just for this game. In this guide, we’ll let you know a bit about each suit, how it unlocks, and just how much it costs to buy it.
Some of the suits simply look aesthetically pleasing, but others give you unique power-ups, and once they’re charged you can press L3 and R3 together to use them. They’ll give you unique advantages in battle, such as invulnerability to bullets, debilitating enemies, super strength, and more. They only last for a limited amount of time, but many will aid you in battle, so play around with them and most importantly, have fun!

1. Advanced Suit

The advanced suit is an original from Insomniac, with a white spider emblazoned on its chest and around the wrists. It is unlocked early in the main story after a certain someone crafts it for you. Its special power is an effective one, allowing your Focus to charge at a faster rate.

2. Classic Suit (Repaired)

This is the suit you start the game with, and the most famous of all the attire Spider-Man has worn over the years. Right before your battle with Kingpin it’s the one you put on in your apartment, but after the fight it becomes damaged. Thankfully, you can restore it by spending 2 x Backpack Tokens and 2 x Crime Tokens. Its Web Blossom power allows you to fire webbing in all directions, forcing enemies away and sticking them to the wall if you’re near any.

3. Classic Suit (Damaged)

This is the default suit and you’ll be able to use it throughout the game. It’s available after your fight with Fisk and has no unique powers. It’s just a reminder of the time you almost lost your life at the hands of New York’s deadliest crime boss.

4. Noir Suit

The Noir Suit is from the 1933 storyline set during The Great Depression, where New York is ran by corrupt politicians and gangsters, led by mob boss The Goblin. It’s a cool suit and unlocks at Level 3. The Sound of Silence power gives you the ability to shut off communications from enemies to their reinforcements, meaning no matter how much noise you make they’ll receive no back up whatsoever. A useful suit when taking on missions filled with a lot of targets. You’ll unlock it by spending 2 x Base Tokens and 2 x Backpack Tokens.

5. Scarlet Spider Suit

The Scarlet Spider has seen various characters take on its mantle, but it first appeared when Spider-Man clone Ben Reilly wore it. At level 4 you’ll be able to unlock it with 3 x Crime Tokens and 2 x Landmark Tokens. Its special power, Holo Decoy, means enemies will become distracted, allowing you to get damage in without taking tons of damage.

6. Spider Armor – MK II Suit

Once upon a time in the comics, Peter Parker lost his Spider Senses. So, to protect himself, he headed to Horizon Labs to create armour that would shield him from bullets and the like. It’s a good suit when entering outposts featuring a heavy sniper presence. When the Bullet Proof power is activated, bullets don’t do any damage, so you’ll only have to avoid any melee damage. It can be unlocked at level five, and costs 1 x Base Token, 1 x Landmark Token, and 2 x Research Tokens to purchase.

7. Secret War Suit

Possibly one of the greatest story arcs in Marvel’s rich history, the Secret War Suit gives you the Arms Race power that sets off an EMP that stuns nearby enemies and renders all weapons useless for a short period of time. Costing 2 x Backpack Tokens, 1 x Base Token, and 2 x Research Tokens to buy, this sleek black suit will be available at Level 7.

8. Stark Suit

For those of you who’ve enjoyed watching Tom Holland’s excellent portrayal of Spider-Man in Marvel’s MCU in recent years, you’ll finally be able to wear the suit he’s been wearing once you hit Level 9. Created by Tony Stark to give Spider-Man the edge in combat, its Spider-Bro power unleashes a drone that takes out small groups of enemies by stunning them with its quick-fire approach. You’ll need to spend 3 x Crime Tokens, 1 x Base Token, and 1 x Research Token, but it’s worth it. Easily one of the best powers in the game.

9. Negative Suit

Whilst you may think that this design is specifically made for the game, the comics have already featured it after Spider-Man took a trip to the Negative Zone, eventually becoming Dusk in the Identity Crisis story arc. Unlocked at Level 11, the Negative Shockwave power unleashes a much more powerful wave of negative energy, affecting grounded enemies instantly. To buy it you’ll need to spend 1 x Research Token, 1 x Base Token, and 2 x Landmark Tokens.

10. Electrically Insulated Suit

Originally featured in Amazing Spider-Man #425, the Electrically Insulated Suit was crafted to fight Electro and combat his large electricity attacks. After your first fight with Shocker (at Level 13), you’ll unlock it, and it’ll cost 1 x Base Token, 1 x Research Token, and 3 x Crime Tokens. Its Electric Punch power does exactly what it says – charges your fists to do plenty of electrical damage when fighting enemies in melee combat.

11. Spider Punk

The Spider Punk Suit is by far the coolest, keeping Parker rooted in the pantheon of punk rock whilst giving you one of the stronger powers in the game. Featuring in 2015’s Amazing Spider-Man Vol 3 #310, the suit was originally worn by Hobie Brown after joining the Superior Spider Army. The Rock Out power gives you powerful punches with ‘waves of righteous sound’, and can be unlocked at Level 16. You’ll be able to buy it with 2 x Backpack Tokens, 3 x Crime Tokens, and 2 x Landmark Tokens.

12. Wrestler Suit

The Wrestler Suit is one of the very first suits Peter Parker created, and was made famous by Tobey Maguire’s version of the hero in Sam Raimi’s trilogy. Worn as he entered a wrestling match to earn some money, it also led to a sad turn of events that resulted in Ben Parker’s Death. The King of the Ring power lets you toss enemies around without using any of your gadgets or covering them in webbing. Spend 2 x Backpack Tokens, 2 x Base Tokens, and 2 x Research Tokens to buy it once it unlocks at Level 19.

13. Fear Itself Suit

Yet another suit created by Tony Stark (with a little help from the dwarves of Svartlfheim), it featured in the Fear Itself comic book arc to battle the Asgardian God of Fear. Its Quad Damage power boosts your attacks greatly in melee, knocking enemies around with only a few attacks. This suit is one of the most powerful and unlocks at Level 21. It’ll cost 6 x Challenge Tokens, 2 x Base Tokens, and 3 x Research Tokens.

14. Stealth (“Big Time”) Suit

In Amazing Spider-Man #650, Parker created this suit to battle Hobgoblin, and in the game, it features in neon green. Stealth is the focus of its Blur Projector power, meaning anyone outside the distortion field can’t see you. It’ll cost 2 x Base Tokens, 4 x Challenge Tokens, and 3 x Landmark Tokens when you unlock it at Level 23.

15. Spider Armor – MK III Suit

The Spider-Man – MK III Suit first featured in Amazing Spider-Man #682 and was made as a last resort for fighting Doctor Octopus and the Sinister Six. The Titanium Alloy Plates power makes all bullets (apart from sniper rounds) ricochet back towards enemies. 2 x Base Tokens, 4 x Crime Tokens, and 4 x Challenge Tokens will be needed to buy it, and to have the dynamic semi-liquid smart metal suit to crystallise incoming bullets, you’ll need to reach Level 26.

16. Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit

In the future (2099 to be precise), Miguel O’ Hara is Spider-Man, and is quite possibly the most stylish wearer of the suit. The Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit has a Low Gravity power, which means you’ll stay in the air for longer. This’ll give you more time to plan your traversal across the city as well as leaving you free to perform aerial moves for longer. It’s unlocked at Level 29 and costs 2 x Base Tokens, 4 x Crime Tokens, and 4 x Research Tokens.

17. Iron Spider Suit

This iteration of the Iron Spider Suit is from The Avengers: Infinity War movie, and has an excellent power known as Iron Arms that helps you to keep enemies at range while still doing large amounts of damage with four additional iron arms. Another suit created by Tony Stark, you’ll be able to buy it for 3 x Base Tokens, 3 x Challenge Tokens and 4 x Crime Tokens at Level 31.

18. Velocity Suit

Ali Granov is one of the finest comic book artists around, and has done some great work featuring Iron Man, including helping with the conception art for 2008’s Iron Man movie as well as The Avengers and Amazing Spider-Man 2 films. The Velocity Suit was designed exclusively for Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 by Granov and allows you to sprint faster thanks to its Blitz ability, which you’ll unlock at Level 33. It costs 2 x Landmark Tokens, 2 x Backpack Tokens, and 4 x Challenge Tokens.

19. Spider Armor MK IV Suit

In Amazing Spider-Man Vol 4 #1, Peter Parker built the Spider Armor MK IV with the resources he’d acquired at worldwide corporation Parker Industries. It's the most technologically advanced suit he’s ever built, with its power being most effective for defending against enemies. lts time active isn’t as long as others, but the Defence Shield is a necessity when going into big boss battles. It’ll unlock at Level 35 and will cost 4 x Base Tokens, 4 x Challenge Tokens, and 3 x Landmark Tokens.

20. Spirit Spider

Featuring in one of the darker Spider-Man storylines, the Spirit Spider (or Ghost Spider) is the result of an alternate universe where Ben never died but helped to train Peter to become Spider-Man. Ben Parker seemingly ended up causing his nephew's death, but it was a coma that Peter was sent into, leaving his spirit trapped in hell.
The Spirit Fire power engulfs Parker’s head in blue flames as well as his enemies with powerful attacks to boot. Unlocked at Level 37, the Ghost Rider-like suit will cost 6 x Base Tokens, 6 x Challenge Tokens, and 6 x Crime Tokens.

21. Spider-Man 2099 White Suit

Like the black suit, this 2099 White Suit was created by Peter Parker at Parker Industries for Miguel O’ Hara. Concussion Strike is excellent for sending enemies off rooftops (which is often a condition of certain outposts) and into the air with one punch. You can unlock this deadly suit at Level 39, costing 4 x Base Tokens, 4 x Challenge Tokens, and 4 x Crime Tokens.

22. Vintage Comic Book Suit

For those of you that grew up many moons ago reading the original Amazing Spider-Man comics, this stylised suit looks amazing in the game. While its power doesn’t do anything other than provide wonderful one-liners, the Quips ability is still worth buying. It’ll unlock at Level 41 and cost 4 x Crime Tokens, 4 x Backpack Tokens, and 4 x Challenge Tokens. If you’re looking for the perfect homage to Spider-Man’s origins, this is it.

23. Last Stand Suit

Another darker story to feature the webslinger, the Last Stand Suit features in the comics where Spider-Man kills villains like Kraven the Hunter and Doc Ock, eventually getting expelled from The Avengers. The Unrelenting Fury power allows you to strike any enemy within reach without needing to disarm guys holding weapons or shields. Perfect for big battles nearing the end of the game, or the tougher Sable Outposts. It’s yours at Level 45 for a whopping 20 x Crime Tokens.

24. Undies

A suit for the perfectionist and those keen to see what Spider-Man wears under his traditional fabrics, this enables you to swing around in your undergarments. The Equalizer power is ideal for those that want a challenge and will let you take out all enemies with one hit, but it also means that they can do the same to you. To gain access to this, you’ll have to 100% all districts and complete all main and side missions.

25. Homemade Suit

Coming straight from the Spider-Man: Homecoming movie, it’s the suit Peter Parker first makes, and you’ll have to find all 55 Backpacks to unlock. It has no power attached to it, featuring more as a homage to the MCU.

26. Anti-Ock Suit

Without spoiling the final mission of the game, this original suit is unlocked once completing the main story. It gives you the Resupply power that makes all gadgets recharge at a faster rate.

27. Dark Suit

The Dark Suit is unlocked after you photograph every toy cat in the Black Cat’s side missions. Once you reach the final destination and complete the last mission, you’ll be able to wear the skin-tight suit as much as you want, even though it has no associated powers.
