Team Peugeot Hansen unveil their new WRX machine
Sébastien Loeb takes control of a Peugeot 208 WRX alongside Timmy and Kevin Hansen this season.
Team Hansen Peugeot have lifted the covers on their latest beast of a machine ahead of the 2017 FIA World RallyCross Championship which revs into life this coming weekend. The Peugeot 208 WRX hits the track with a beefed up four-cylinder, turbocharged engine that provides 600bhp – going from 0 to 100kph in two seconds.
The talented trio of drivers will be looking to put down an early marker at this season’s curtain raising event at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Mixed surface racing will be taking place on April 1-2 with the first precious championship points of 2017 on offer.
Adding to the dynamic within Team Peugeot Hansen this season will be the friendly rivalry between brothers Timmy and Kevin Hansen. “I’m excited to have Kevin coming into the team,” said elder brother Timmy. “We’re going to be able to share new ideas and new tricks with each other. I think it’s a big advantage for me and for both of us that we have each other to push forward.”
For 18-year-old Kevin, 2016’s FIA Rookie of the Year, the wait for his first full World RallyCross season is nearly over. “We’ve worked well in the past and for sure we’ll do it even more now that we’re 12 races together.” Kevin told RedBull.com about his relationship with Timmy. “It’s just another driver to get past if you want to win the championship.”
