Edgar Canet is not your average 19-year-old. After all, how many 19-year-olds have won the Rally2 class and finished eighth overall in the punishing Dakar Rally, let alone as a rookie? That’s exactly what the teenager from Barcelona suburb La Garriga did in the 2025 edition of the world’s toughest off-road race however, announcing himself as Spain’s great new motorcycling hope in rally raids.
Unlike other motocross racers his age who’ve won national youth titles and gone on to race in the incredibly competitive European 125cc Championship, Edgar’s eyes weren’t really on making it to MXGP, rather following in the footsteps of Spanish legends of the Dakar like his long-time mentor
