For the first of a three-part video series, we head to Kolkata to explore the story of one man who became one of the most important names in music production in the BBC, Miti Adhikari. The Silver Fox, as he is fondly referred to as, is a man who left the city of Calcutta early on, joined the BBC at an early age and became top dog and worked with the biggest names (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Elastica, Arcade Fire) in the studio and at festivals (including the likes of Glastonbury, T In The Park and Reading and Leeds Music Festival).
His journey back home began in the early 2000s, and finally gripped him to come back and contribute something to the erupting scene here. It was when he heard the demos from The Supersonics, and eventually producing their debut record Maby Baking that Adhikari decided it was time to make the move. That process, however, lasted longer and he was finally back when the rockers from Kolkata were reuniting and ready to head into the studio again for their second album, Heads Up.
