Red Bull Wingfinder has been helping some of the world's best athletes to discover more about themselves, and it can help you to learn more about your own strengths and weaknesses, too. 'How does it actually work, though?' we hear you cry. Well, there are some amazing stats behind the comprehensive personality test, including over 30 years of research, and 10,000 trial participants. Read on, as we take a look at some of the finer details behind Red Bull Wingfinder.

30 years of psychological research

That's how long it's taken to get Red Bull Wingfinder to where it is today. 30 years of psychological research, carried out across thousands of studies that clearly point to four areas that are more influential than any other as components of employability and career success.
Those four areas are 'Connections', 'Thinking', 'Creativity', and 'Drive', and Wingfinder aims to dig deep inside your personality to discover more about where your strengths lie. The test looks at the type of interpersonal skills you have, your creativity and curiosity, your fluid IQ, and your ambition, drive, and motivation.

10,000 participants

Decades of research may have gone into Red Bull Wingfinder, but getting the model as accurate as possible also required a whole lot of real-world knowledge, and that's where 10,000 people came in.
In the validation phases of Wingfinder’s development, over 10,000 people provided data to create an instrument that could predict the likelihood of employability and success in knowledge-based jobs. The result is a test that can analyse personalities, and highlight skills across all walks of life, whether you're an elite or aspiring athlete or somebody who works in an office, spending your spare time gaming.

280 questions

All that theoretical and real-world research has been condensed into a test made up of 280 questions. Those questions have been developed by the world's leading psychology professors to uncover exactly what it is that drives your success at work.
The results of those 280 questions lead to a tailored feedback report and coaching plan, making Red Bull Windfinder a platform from which you can launch your future success. That may include starting out on a new career path or reinvigorating your existing one, but either way Wingfinder is a great tool to discover exactly what it is you’re good at, and the areas you can improve.

Hundreds of images

If 280 sounds like a daunting number, don't worry, Red Bull Wingfinder is far from your average personality test. Instead of using complicated text-based questions, Red Bull have opted to use images – hundreds of them. Why? Innovative technology, and the increasing acceptance of new technologies have opened up a new world, where Wingfinder can deliver questions in a more engaging and dynamic way, engaging in a richer dialogue with test participants without compromising the validity of traditional text-based test scales.
As explained on the Red Bull Wingfinder site, visual questions are more intuitive, resulting in a faster reaction time per question compared to text-based questions with the same number of options, and completion rates are also higher.

35 minutes

35 is the final key number you need to know. That's the time it takes (in minutes) to complete the Red Bull Wingfinder test. That's enough time to read, process and respond to the 280 questions, running through five different assessment formats.
As explained on the Red Bull Wingfinder site itself, "Everyone is measured self-against-self, and self-against-others. The assessment offers value by providing insight and meaningful positive feedback to participants about their strengths, with coaching guidance for action and development."
