When it comes to competition for fellow Norwegians Aksel Lund Svindal and Andreas Mikkelsen time is of the essence. Beating the clock has helped Svindal become one of the most decorated alpine skiers of all time, while Mikkelsen is one of the WRC’s brightest prospects for future success.

Their need for speed was put to the test when the duo teamed up for a very special mission – could they come down the mountain in time to catch the last ferry of the day leaving Lyseveien? Watch the above clip to see Svindal jump every obstacle in his path, while Mikkelsen throws his VW Polo R WRC into each turn on the perilous snow-banked path.
With Rally Finland starting later this week the 27 hairpin bends and 160kph top speed clocked by Mikkelsen shows he’s in great shape to follow up his second place at Rally Poland with another great result. Meanwhile, Svindal has demonstrated himself to be a multi-talented athlete by providing pace notes from the co-driver’s seat after putting on an alpine racing masterclass.
