Born in London in 2007, Arvid Lindblad’s interest in motorsport began at an early age, with his first experience coming in motocross at just three years old, before he transitioned to karting. As he progressed through the junior ranks, he quickly distinguished himself as one of Europe’s most promising young karters, recognised for his natural speed, refined racecraft and a level of consistency that set him apart from his peers.
A rapid rise through the ranks
As he transitioned from karting to single-seaters, Lindblad quickly mastered F4 before making an immediate impact in F3, becoming the youngest-ever Sprint race winner on his debut in Bahrain in March 2024, aged just 16. Later that year, he secured a dominant home double at Silverstone, winning both the Sprint and Feature races.
In 2024, he stepped up to the highly competitive Formula 2 championship with Campos Racing, where he became the youngest race winner in the series’ history at the Jeddah Sprint. He later added another milestone by becoming the second-youngest polesitter ever in Barcelona, behind Théo Pourchaire. From there, a move to Formula One felt inevitable.
Balancing racing and teenage life
Despite being behind the wheel from a very young age, Lindblad’s path to Formula One was not always straightforward. His mother, from an academic background, was initially unconvinced that motorsport could be a viable career. As Lindblad recalls, she eventually came around, recognising his talent and the possibility that he could go far, with the family fully committing to supporting his ambitions.
With an Indian mother and Swedish father, he was encouraged to balance education with racing – focusing on schoolwork during the week in exchange for competing at weekends; a compromise that allowed him to pursue both.
A dream promotion to F1
A member of the Red Bull Junior Team since 2021, Lindblad earned a promotion to Formula One in 2026 with the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, becoming one of the youngest British drivers to reach the sport when he made his debut with an eighth-place finish at the Australian Grand Prix. He is widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in modern motorsport, with many viewing him as a future contender for world championship success.
