Björn Dunkerbeck has had an illustrious career dating back to 1986, when he hit the professional circuit at the tender age of 17. These days Björn has achieved legendary status and is revered worldwide by young professional windsurfers for feats such as multiple championship titles and breaking multiple world speed sailing records. He beat a longstanding personal goal to become the first person to break the 100kph barrier on a windsurfer when he was clocked at 103.67kph during the Lüderitz Speed Challenge in late 2021.
The Danish-Dutch windsurfing phenomenon's résumé is simply astonishing, featuring over 100 Professional Windsurfing Association (PWA) titles, as well as a plethora of PWA Wave World Championship crowns and PWA overall World Championships.
Björn has stood out as a legend among his peers because of his raw talent, determination and pure passion for his sport. He says: "I’ve been working at this sport all my life. If I go without windsurfing for more than one day I get itchy and can’t wait to get out there."
