Collin Veijer comes from a family of motorcycle competitors in the Netherlands. His father and uncles all love to race, with one uncle previously competing in the Dutch 600cc Championship and the Dutch 1,000cc Championship, while another uncle is now Collin's coach.
Racing really is a family affair and Collin got his first bike when he was just four years old. He was immediately hooked and at the age of eight won the Dutch Minibike Champion title.
In 2017, Collin rode in the Italian MiniGP class, where he was named the European Champion. An underdog in 2018, he won four races and amazed everyone when he finished second in the CIV pre-Moto3 class. The following season he levelled up to the CIV Moto3 class.
Over the next two years, Collin moved up even further as he was selected to join the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup. He also competed in the CEV Respol – European Talent Cup and the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship in Spain.
During the 2022 season, Collin competed in the FIM Junior MotoGP Moto3™ class and enjoyed his best campaign in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup as he finished in second place overall.
This impressive season saw Collin rewarded with a place in the Moto3™ class for the 2023 MotoGP World Championship for Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP team. There, he claimed pole position in just his 10th race in Austria and scored his first podium and win on back-to-back weekends in Thailand and Malaysia to finish his rookie season seventh in the world.
With a year of Moto3™ racing under his belt, Collin's 2024 season was even more successful, scoring a win and eight further podium finishes to end the year in third place in the Moto3™ World Championship.
Now signed with the long-standing and successful Red Bull KTM Ajo team to race in Moto2™ for 2025 and beyond, Collin is determined to repeat his successes on the next rung of the MotoGP™ ladder.
