Courtney Atkinson is one of Australia’s top athletes, with an impressive medal haul to boot thanks to a multitude of triathlon titles. As a teenager growing up around Mackay, Australia, Courtney had a passion for the outdoors.

“I grew up on the Gold Coast dreaming of becoming a Surf Life Saving Ironman racing in big waves, before I got into triathlon,” he says. It was around the age of 16 and 17 that Courtney decided to focus exclusively on triathlon, and the Queensland native won four consecutive Australian Junior Triathlon Championships from 1996 to 1999.
