Gracey Hemstreet is considered to be one of the most exciting rising stars on the mountain bike scene. As a Junior World Champion, the young star has consistently delivered podium performances and has no plans of slowing down.
Early practice at a brand-new park
Hemstreet was raised in Sechelt, British Columbia, Canada, and got her first bike at the age of nine when her father, Darren Hemstreet, began the construction of Coast Gravity Park.
After years of riding Canada’s most pristine year-round bike park, she started her competitive MTB career in 2018 with a series of podium finishes at BC Cup, Crankworx, and National Championship events.
Her natural ability to both set or exceed the pace would soon earn the rising star a spot at her first-ever World Cup, where she gave the world a preview of what was to come.
Making history
In 2022, Hemstreet became the first Canadian junior female to win a World Cup, and went on to win five more to secure the junior World Championship overall title.
Another record came her way in 2024 when she became the first female rider to complete the gnarly course at Red Bull Hardline Tasmania, and she also took home the prestigious 'Rider of the Week' award. That year she also became the first female Canadian rider to podium on home soil at Mont-Sainte-Anne.
The following season saw her build even more momentum as she won three UCI World Cup events - Loudenvielle, Leogang and Les Gets - on her way to overall second in the series.
A Red Bull Hardline double
Also in 2025, Hemstreet became the inaugural women’s champion at Red Bull Hardline Tasmania. She then defended her title in 2026, making history in the process as she became the first-ever woman to win two Red Bull Hardline events.
Proven to be the fastest up-and-coming rider on the international circuit, Hemstreet now hopes to continue her successes in the Elite class.
