Hazal Nehir was born in 1994 in Ankara, Turkey. One day she went to the gym for B-Girl training, but on that particular occasion she ended up trying parkour and never looked back.
"Jumping, climbing, and running were always so fun for me," she says. "Moving around freely and letting my body move is something I've always done and that's why I started out as a B-Girl.
Fast forward to 2020 and Hazal is now one of Turkey's best-known parkour athletes, having won the Women's Speed Run category at the Lion City Gathering 2019 in Singapore and becoming the first Turkish athlete to take part in the Red Bull Art of Motion Finals (also in 2019).
She was also nominated for a Taurus World Stunt Award in 2021 for her work in Hollywood director Michael Bay's film 6 Underground.
Hazal says that she sees the sport as a tool for self-recognition, and judging by her performances lately, she's likely to become recognised by even wider audiences in the near future.
