Lisa Hauser seems to have been born to compete in biathlon, so it’s little wonder that the Austrian excelled throughout her junior career. In 2012 she won bronze at the Youth World Championships and one year later claimed silver at the Junior World Championships in the 12.5km event.
After transitioning to senior competition, Lisa excelled in sprint, pursuit and individual, representing her country in all three events at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi. Regarded as a strong shooter, she continued to challenge for honours in World Cups and World Championships, while in 2018 she was awarded the Fair Play Prize of German Sports. This came after the Austrian had accidentally stepped on the pole of German competitor Vanessa Hinz, which fell by the wayside. Lisa then handed over her own pole and continued with just one.
