It’s fair to say Manuel Lettenbichler has always loved bikes. He first started riding a trials bike at the age of five and went on to win three junior trials titles before taking a change of direction.
His father, Andreas, introduced him to enduro riding and Mani caught the bug. On his first appearance at the Red Bull Hare Scramble in Erzberg in 2014 he became, at the age of 16, the youngest rider to ever finish the race.
Success around the globe
Since Mani joined the big leagues, he has enjoyed success all over the world on the Hard Enduro circuit. He's registered victories in Poland, Germany, Spain, Brazil and the Czech Republic, cementing his place as one of the sport’s biggest talents in the process.
In 2019, he underlined just how much talent he has at his disposal by finishing as the outright winner of the World Enduro Super Series – the undoubted highlight of which was his victory at Red Bull Romaniacs – to claim the title of Ultimate Enduro World Champion.
Mani returned to action for 2020's only major race, the punishing Red Bull Romaniacs, and delivered a winning ride for the second year in a row. The following year he completed a hat-trick of wins at Red Bull Romaniacs and the GetzenRodeo, but had to settle for second place in the overall standings of FIM Hard Enduro World Championship.
Crowned a world champion
Mani went up a gear in 2022 and proved he is the man to beat in Hard Enduro as he took the Hard Enduro World Championship title.
“I can’t believe it – this feels so good," he said after sealing the title with victory in Spain’s Hixpania Hard Enduro. "I’m so happy to get the job done, and it’s even better to do it with a win here in Spain, especially in front of this sick crowd. They’ve given so much support to everyone the whole weekend, it’s been amazing.”
There was no stopping Mani in 2023, 2024 or 2025 either, as he won three more overall FIM Hard Enduro World Championships for a quadruple of titles that have confirmed him as the dominant rider of his generation.
Now, after winning the infamous Red Bull Erzbergrodeo for a record-equalling fifth consecutive year in 2026, Mani has the outright all-time wins record at the world's toughest one-day race firmly in his sights.
