As a child, Marin Ranteš had a shot at numerous sports, including football, basketball and handball, among others, but when he got hold of his first BMX, everything else went to oblivion.
With no skatepark anywhere near his hometown of Varaždin, all he could do was practise his street tricks.
Ranteš soon discovered the beauty of park riding and spent every weekend at the skatepark in Zagreb. Before too long, it became obvious that he would soon make his mark on the international stage.
In 2012, he was named the best Croatian BMX rider, and ever since, he's shown no signs of slowing down. One of his standout achievements came in 2018, when he secured first place in the FISE BMX Freestyle Park Men’s Championship. In 2019, Marin won third place at the Baltic Games.
Things ramped up in 2021 when he placed third at the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships in Montpellier, France. He followed up that victory by winning the Pannonian Challenge in Croatia.
Marin's success continued at the European Championships, where he took second place for BMX Park. He followed up that victory by taking second place at Battle of Hastings. His final victory of 2022 came when he won Extreme Barcelona. The following year he placed third at the same event.
More recently he triumphed at Extreme Barcelona, proving that he remains one of the world's very best riders.
