When it comes to crossing mountains, few people on the plant do it as well as Rémi Bonnet. In both mountain running and ski mountaineering, the Swiss athlete has won some of the biggest races and championships around the world making him a year-round endurance legend.
Born and raised surrounded by alpine peaks in the town of Charmey, Rémi grew up at play in the mountains and it’s no surprise he was known a real mountain goat from an early age. He was already a Junior and U23 world champion when he shattered the course record at the 2015 Red Bull K3 race and since turning pro that year he’s clocked up wins in the biggest mountain running events. The UTMB World Series, Golden Trail Series and the famed Marathon du Mont-Blanc – Rémi’s won them all.
When the winter closes in and the trail-running season draws to close, Rémi simply swaps shoes for skis and becomes one of the world’s best ski mountaineering competitors as well. How good is he on the snow? World Championship titles in 2021 and 2023, as well as the European Championship title during the 2024 season – not to mention plenty of race wins the ISMF World Cup series, where he’s currently ranked number one in the world and finished third overall in both 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Crowning another successful 2025 mountain running season, Rémi set a new world record at the Fully Vertical Kilometre in Switzerland, completing the grueling 1.92km climb with 1,000m of elevation gain in an incredible 27m 21s, smashing the previous record by a massive 1m 32s.
With years of double duty racing ahead of him still, expect Rémi to power to more big wins, records and titles soon.
