Here’s how the Grammy-winning rapper charmed the pants off the world.
Chancelor Johnathan Bennett might not be a household name but his all-rapping, all-smiling, Grammy-winning alter-ego Chance The Rapper certainly is. He burst out of Chicago in 2013 when he dropped his chaotic and luminous mixtape Acid Rap on an unsuspecting public and has since become one of hip-hop's biggest successes, bringing sunshine and laughs along with him.
Chance was busy before that name-making mixtape, of course, building a local following with his 10 Day debut. And by the time Acid Rap came along Chance knew exactly what he was doing, surrounding himself with the likes of Vic Mensa and the horn-blowing Social Experiment gang. Since Acid Rap, Chance has collaborated with The Social Experiment ( Surf) and Lil B ( Free Based Freestyles), appeared on Kanye's Life Of Pablo, and finally dropped his third mixtape, Coloring Book, late last year.
Following his big night out at last weekend's Grammys, where he picked up three gongs (for Best New Artist, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance), here are Chance's 10 finest moments.
