Red Bull Genova Cerro Abajo – live

The Red Bull Cerro Abajo hit the city streets of Genova, Italy, for the very first time to decide the 2024 championship, delivering the usual mix of stairways, drops and unique wooden features as riders raced down from the city's high point to the finish at the famed port.
A short track length of just under three minutes meant times were tight until top qualifiers Tomáš Slavík and Juanfer Velez started their finals runs, going all-out to score victory and bragging rights.

Both riders dominated the split times, but at the finish Slavík just eked out enough of an advantage to take the win in time of 2m 42.505s, beating Velez by just 0.477s. Over three seconds back of Slavík's blistering time in third was Velez's team-mate Sebastian Holguín.
Courtesy of his second place in Genova, to back-up a flying win at the previous race in Guanajuato, Mexico, Velez secured the 2024 Red Bull Cerro Abajo championship title for the second year running, just four points ahead of Slavík, while Holguín made it two Colombians in the top three of the championship.
