Explore the history of Red Bull Home Ground, from its 2021 debut to its biggest moments and champions through the years.
2021 – Red Bull Home Ground makes its debut in London
Red Bull Home Ground made its debut in early 2021 as an online European VALORANT tournament. In a tense final, G2 and Team Liquid were neck and neck until the very last shot was fired, but G2 came away with a 3-2 win to become the first champions.
Red Bull Home Ground returned later that year for its second edition and first offline LAN, held at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London. Sixteen teams competed, with Team Liquid taking out Acend 3-1 in an epic final clash to claim the title.
2022 – North American teams enter Red Bull Home Ground
The third edition moved to Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse and expanded beyond EMEA for the first time, bringing North American teams into the competition. And it was two of those teams who dominated as 100 Thieves completed an unbeaten run through the tournament to sweep compatriots Cloud9 aside 3-0 in the final.
2023 – Tokyo hosts a dramatic fourth edition
Red Bull Home Ground headed outside Europe for the first time in 2023, taking over Tokyo’s historic Ryogoku Kokugikan sumo arena. Fnatic came from 2-1 down against Cloud9 in a dramatic best-of-five final to win 3-2 and bring the trophy back to Europe
2024 – T1 take Red Bull Home Ground title in Berlin
The fifth edition brought eight of the world’s leading VALORANT teams to Arena Berlin, where Seoul-based T1 claimed victory with their stunning performance in the finals. They defeated Cloud9 3-1 in a fiercely contested match to take home the title and condemn the North American team to their third Grand Final defeat in a row.
2025 – Red Bull Home Ground lands in New York
Red Bull Home Ground crossed the Atlantic for its first World Final in the United States in 2025. New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom hosted teams including NRG, T1, Sentinels, Fnatic, Cloud9, G2 Esports and ZETA DIVISION, with G2 completing an epic run before sweeping reigning VALORANT Champions winners NRG 3-0 in the Grand Final.
