Adam Małysz will face his long-time rival, Janne Ahonen as the world’s only team ski jumping competition focused on precision returns to Zakopane, Poland. On April 1, 2026, shortly after the conclusion of the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup season, the best athletes, led by legends of the discipline, will once again compete in Red Bull Target Jumping at the Wielka Krokiew.

Ticket sales for the second edition of Red Bull Target Jumping have already begun.

  • The goal for each team is to achieve a total distance of as close to 1,000m as possible, in eight jumps. It's a return to the roots of the 'Malyszomania' (the nationwide excitement in Poland, sparked by the ski jumping success of Adam Małysz in the early 2000s) -- only the distance counts, there are no style marks or wind calculations.
  • 2026 tickets are already available online, and those watching the world’s top athletes compete in-person can look forward to a special autograph session with the event’s stars!
  • The team captains are legends from years past: Adam Małysz, Janne Ahonen, Martin Schmitt, Thomas Morgenstern and Andreas Goldberger. Before the main team competition, they take part in a solo 'captains’ contest' on the K4 mini hill.
  • Top ski jumpers will take part in the team competition. Among them Domen Prevc, Ryōyū Kobayashi, Anže Lanišek and Kacper Tomasiak, but you can find the full list under Competitors and below:

On April 1st we’re coming back with Red Bull Target Jumping – and this is no joke! I already invite everyone to Wielka Krokiew, mark your calendars. Target jumping means excitement and great fun – for the captains, the jumpers and the fans. And especially for me.
Adam Malysz
Following the success of the inaugural Red Bull Target Jumping, this one-of-a-kind competition will once again crown the winter season. Just a few days after the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup final in Planica, Slovenia, top ski jumpers led by their team captains will compete under the floodlights at Wielka Krokiew.
The rules remain the same as last year: no style points, no compensation for wind or gate changes – only distance counts. The winning team is the one that comes closest to the target of 1,000m in total distance, combined from all eight jumps. The captains, together with the athletes, choose their own starting bar and competition strategy. Every attempt makes a difference.
For 2026, five teams compete, led by the host of the event, Adam Małysz, and his great rivals: Martin Schmitt, Andreas Goldberger, Thomas Morgenstern and Janne Ahonen. Unlike the other captains, Janne Ahonen – the five-time Four Hills Tournament champion – will take part in Red Bull Target Jumping for the first time.

The format is interesting and fun. I don’t have experience from the first edition, but I have an idea for this competition and I know we’ll have a great time in Zakopane. I can’t wait to meet the other captains and all the jumpers.

The world’s top ski jumpers will be on display at Wielka Krokiew in 2026. During the first edition, fans could admire jumps by athletes such as Ryōyū Kobayashi, Daniel Tschofenig, Andreas Wellinger, Anže Lanišek and Domen Prevc, as well as Polish competitors led by Paweł Wąsek, Dawid Kubacki and Piotr Żyła. The line-up for the second edition is already available – check out Competitors for the full list.

2025 Recap

In 2025 the battle for victory lasted until the final jump. Two teams, led by Martin Schmitt and Andreas Goldberger, hit the 1,000m target exactly, and the winner was decided by… the earlier captains’ contest, won by Schmitt. In the end, the top four teams were separated by just 1.5m!
"Red Bull Target Jumping is a super initiative, a breath of fresh air in ski jumping. There is a lack of competitions played more relaxed, for fun and a good atmosphere. In Zakopane it succeeded brilliantly," said Martin Schmitt.
One of the highlights of the first edition of Red Bull Target Jumping was Domen Prevc's jump, which set an unofficial Wielka Krokiew record at 150.5m. The official record still belongs to the Japanese Yukii Sato (147m) from the World Cup competitions, but nobody has jumped as far as Prevc on the Wielka Krokiew, yet! "We had to put on a show, so I took it seriously," smiled Prevc.
