What is Red Bull Wololo III?
Red Bull Wololo III is the global Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition 1v1 online tournament. The Red Bull Wololo series launched in 2020 and brings together amateur and pro players from all over the world to compete in a tweaked version of the Empire Wars game mode. The third event in the series will take place in January 2021.
What are the rules of Red Bull Wololo III?
Players will compete in a slightly altered version of the Empire Wars game mode, which removes the first stages of a traditional match. Players will spawn with pre-built buildings and at the second age.
Both players begin with a 27-villager economy already up and running. A barracks and blacksmith are already provided to players at the start of the game and loom has already been researched to balance things out across different strategies. The tweaks to this mode mean that matches can literally be won or lost in the opening minutes of the game.
What's the new Red Bull Wololo story?
Red Bull Wololo III introduces an overarching narrative to the event series.
Civilizations in each Red Bull Wololo event are fighting over a castle, which has a library containing knowledge required for world domination. Each event represents a different civilization trying to gain control of the castle and its library. Red Bull Wololo I and II represented Western Civilization and Wololo III will represent Asian Civilization. The tournament series will conclude in a grand final, where the winners of each tournament will battle it out.
How can I enter Red Bull Wololo III?
Red Bull Wololo III features two parts: open qualifiers, where anyone can sign up to play, and the Main Event, where the qualifier winners are invited to face pro players. You can sign up for the Open Qualifiers here.
When is Red Bull Wololo III taking place?
Qualifiers for Red Bull Wololo III are taking place on Saturday, January 2 – Sunday, January 3 and then Saturday, January 9 – Sunday, January 10.
The Main Event takes on Saturday, January 16 – Sunday, January 17 and Friday, January 22 – Sunday, January 24.

The top eight pros set to battle it out in Red Bull Wololo III will return from the previous event, with Mr_Yo, TheViper, Hera, Liereyy, TaToH, TheMax, Nicov and Capochall all ready to compete.
Where can I watch Red Bull Wololo III?
The event will be streamed globally and hosted by a group of legendary casters, including T90Official, Nili_Aoe and Dave_Aoe, who will be calling the shots on the main English stream. Other languages will be announced soon.
