F1 2017 out now: Here’s Max Verstappen’s verdict

Max Verstappen being interviewed about F1 2017

How do you like F1 2017?
Max Verstappen: So my recent session was actually good fun. I was driving in Spa [Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps] with the new car. It was a lot of fun, especially now I tried it for the first time with this year’s car in the game, it was really good.
How did the RB13 feel?
The feel of the RB13 is actually very close to what we experience in the real car, so that’s always a big positive for the game.
How did the RB6 differ from the RB13?
There's handling difference – the RB6 you can feel is quite a lot lighter, so especially in the low speed corners it all feels a bit more easy. But I think that’s also because of the torque delivery – there’s less power with that car. But then on the straights you’re obviously quite a bit slower, so you have two completely different cars to drive, also in terms of how to approach the corners.
How did F1 2017 compare to the previous version?
Compared to the previous game, the graphics improved, but then just the handling of the car. It’s more realistic, so that’s definitely a very big positive.
What do you think still needs improving?
I think apart from the G-forces, it’s just the depth in the footage – it’s a bit more difficult to judge really precisely where to turn in and stuff. For me personally it feels easier in the real car, but I think with the virtual reality it's getting better. But then you want the graphics to improve as well, so I think that’s what they have to work on.
F1 2017 is out today for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
