Ever looked at your friends' bank balances in FIFA Ultimate Team and wondered how they have so many coins? Unless they've been fortunate enough to pack a top-name superstar or Icon, you'll probably find that it's the result of successful market trading.
It's easy to sell players in FUT 18 without giving it much thought. However, in doing so, you might be missing out on some big profits. In order to start racking up the coins and getting true value for money, take a look at our top tips for selling players in FIFA 18 Ultimate Team.

1. Determine your player's value

FIFA 18 automatically assigns a standard price for each of your players, but don't trust this figure too much. It's crucial to select the 'compare price' option before putting any acquisitions on the market. This will allow you to determine the average value they're currently selling for and then you can use this data to assign both a starting price and 'buy it now' option to help obtain as many coins as possible.

2. Account for EA tax

All sales on the FUT transfer market are subject to a 5% in-game tax. This feature, which helps prevent massive inflation, must be taken into account for any player you put up for sale. Particular focus should be paid to four, five and six-figure sums, and if you're struggling with the maths, various FIFA websites actually host specific calculator tools to provide assistance. Do this and there's no chance of accidentally losing money on the deal.

3. Don't ignore Bronze or Silver players

If you're looking to make a profit, resisting the desire to splurge on high-cost packs can be hugely beneficial. You can actually get some serious value out of standard Bronze and Silver purchases, particularly if you're tactical in your approach. For example, a 400-coin pack usually offers up fairly average players, but if required for use in a Squad Building Challenge, those players' values could skyrocket. Buy low, sell high.

4. Keep track of the market

There are a whole range of variables that can have a significant effect on the state of the in-game market. Simply put, player valuations can differ greatly from week-to-week and it's in your best interests to sell for the most money. You can analyse the market in a variety of ways, from browsing specialist websites such as Futhead and Futbin, to taking advantage of the official Ultimate Team Web and Companion App for mobile, tablet and PC.

5. Boost your transfer list size

Although the standard FUT transfer list can accommodate just 30 players, you can add to this via the EASFC Catalogue. Here, FCC points can be traded for more slots, with multiple options available for purchase at various XP and price levels. This is a must-have, as you'll quickly fill your default list when playing the market and more transfer-listed players allows for more opportunities to make money through trading.

6. Take advantage of Marquee Matchups

Marquee Matchups are weekly Squad Building Challenges, focusing on significant games in the real world. As they require a selection of players from participating teams, these events can have a significant effect on the FUT market values of everyone involved. As a result, if you've acquired any of these players in advance, you stand to make a big profit on everything from Bronze reserves to Gold superstars.

7. Hold onto your in-forms

If you're lucky enough to bag an in-form player, try and resist the temptation to immediately place them on the market. While you're likely to make a nice selection of coins by doing so, waiting a little longer can improve a player's value to a worthwhile degree. After the in-form player is no longer available in packs, their presence on the market will significantly lessen, making them far more valuable to potential bidders.
