Freestyle Session (aka FSS) is a two-day, cultural, hip-hop and breaking event put on in California, USA by DJ and promoter Cros One. The event's been running for over 20 years and always has a variety of different battles, with the main one a breaking crew battle.
What's going down at Freestyle Session 2019?
Freestyle Session 2019 takes place in the city of San Diego, on November 23 and 24.
There will be a 3 vs 3 breaking crew battle with the judges Hong 10 (Red Bull BC One All Stars), Beta Rawk (Heartbreakerz Crew/Ground Zero), Leanski (Floorlords crew), Reveal (Killafornia/Rock Force crew) and Speedy (Battle Squad crew).
There will be an all-styles battle with judges Angyil, Tony Ray and Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas.
There will be the Naughty 40s battle in which you must be 40 years old or over to enter. A lot of legends in the game are expected to come out for this one, and the judges will be Trac2, Kwon138 and E-Swift.
There will be a Popping Solo battle judged by JR Boogaloo, Boogie Frantick and Jeckle.
DJs Lean Rock, Fleg, Skeme Richards, Mane One, Abel, Element, Riz, Nobunaga, Roxswift, Ervin Arana, Megatone and Kogataroo will be on the decks for the event.
The Red Bull BC One All Stars are going to compete in the breaking battle
The Red Bull BC One All Stars trio of Menno, Victor and Lil G will be entering the 3 vs 3 breaking crew battle. The three aren't automatically qualified and so they'll be attempting to make it through qualification into the main battle, and then go for the win.
