Japanese car company Infiniti has announced that it will increase its involvement with Red Bull Racing from 2013.
The move will include the team’s name being changed to Infiniti Red Bull Racing from next season.
Infiniti has worked with Red Bull Racing since 2011, and will now become a major technical partner for the team, with plans to increase collaboration between the two on engineering and development projects.

Infinti, which is owned by Nissan, has already produced a ‘Vettel edition’ of its FX50 road car, which it unveiled at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, and plans to increase Red Bull Racing’s involvement in its road cars.
The collaboration will run until at least 2016, with Red Bull Racing’s Adrian Newey welcoming the increased involvement between the two. “Formula One presents immense design and engineering challenges on a daily basis,” said the team’s Chief Technical Officer.
“Having a committed technical partner like Infiniti gives us a great platform for working together on technical projects, such as the Energy Recovery Systems for the 2014 season.”
