About
Fionn McLaughlin is an emerging Irish talent in single-seater racing, known for his strong foundation in karting and rapid ascent through the junior ranks. Hailing from Magherafelt, Northern Ireland, McLaughlin began karting at the age of five and quickly gained recognition for his pace and racecraft. By the time he was seven, he was already claiming race victories in national competitions.
02
Early Carrer
In 2019, McLaughlin competed in the IAME Cadet class of the British Karting Championships, finishing 14th overall. The following year, 2020, he achieved a significant milestone by securing second place in the Kartmasters British Grand Prix in the IAME Cadet category. In 2021, McLaughlin transitioned to the junior category, competing in the IAME Euro Series and finishing fourth overall.
The year 2022 saw Fionn's continued success, as he finished as the runner-up in both the British Karting Championships (Junior X30) and the IAME World Finals held in Le Mans, France. In 2023, McLaughlin competed in the CIK-FIA European Championships, finishing seventh overall in his first year in the OK category. In 2024, he achieved a notable victory in the Champions of the Future Euro Series at Valencia in the OK category.

2024 Season
Later that year, McLaughlin delivered a strong performance in the FIA Karting European Championship, finishing third in the final round at Kristianstad. He also secured sixth place in the 2024 FIA Karting World Championship in the OK category.
In August 2024, McLaughlin's consistent performances earned him a place in the Red Bull Junior Team following a competitive evaluation in Jerez, Spain. As of 2025, he competes in the F4 British Championship with Hitech TGR, marking his transition into single-seater racing.
04
2025 Season
McLaughlin made a successful and comprehensive transition to single-seater racing in 2025, undertaking a dual campaign that began with the Formula Winter Series where he finished 3rd overall, securing three race wins and six podium finishes.
His main focus, the F4 British Championship with Hitech TGR, proved immensely successful in his debut season. He secured the Championship title with a commanding lead, recording a total of five race victories and 14 podium finishes across the 30-race season. His overall dominance also earned him the Rookie Cup title, securing his immediate progression up the motorsport ladder.
Outlook
Following his British F4 Championship title in his rookie season, McLaughlin will make the highly ambitious jump directly to FIA Formula 3, bypassing the traditional Formula Regional step. This move — made less than two years after joining the Red Bull Junior Team — highlights the high level of trust and confidence the program and his team, Hitech TGR, have in his ability to adapt quickly to the more powerful, technical F3 machinery.
