About

Melvin Kalousdian is a Swedish racing driver from Örebro who has established himself as one of the most dominant prospects in Nordic single-seater racing. He gained international recognition in 2025 by becoming the youngest-ever champion in the history of Formula Nordic, competing for Race Team Gelleråsen. His debut season in cars was defined by an unprecedented level of success, where he broke the all-time series record for the most victories in a single year.

Early Career

Kalousdian’s ascent through the ranks began with total dominance of the Swedish national karting scene. He secured his first major titles in 2021 by winning both the MKR Series Sweden and the IAME Series, which earned him a place in the world finals in Italy. In 2022, he reached the pinnacle of domestic junior karting by claiming the Swedish Mini60 Championship. After moving into international competition with Ward Racing, he capped off his karting tenure in 2024 with a landmark victory at the ROK Cup Superfinal in Lonato, Italy, while simultaneously securing the Swedish Junior 125 title.

2025 Season

Competing for Race Team Gelleråsen, Kalousdian’s first season in single-seaters resulted in a double title win, securing both the Swedish Junior Championship (JSM) and the Nordic Championship. He achieved an exceptional conversion rate of 15 victories from 20 starts, amassing a total of 444 points and becoming the youngest winner in the history of the category. His campaign was marked by consistent front-running pace, including a clean sweep of class victories at Falkenberg and a dominant performance at the Jyllandsringen season finale.

Outlook

As a direct result of his record-breaking dominance in 2025, Kalousdian was officially recruited into the Red Bull Junior Team for the 2026 season. This marks his first step into a major global driver development program, providing the framework for his transition to the British racing scene. For 2026, he will compete in the Ginetta Junior Championship, a move designed to sharpen his wheel-to-wheel racecraft in a highly competitive touring car-style environment before continuing his progression toward international Formula 4.
