About

Oliver Goethe is a German and Danish racing driver. The son of GT and historic racer Roald Goethe, his career trajectory is defined by a dominant championship victory in Euroformula Open and a rapid mid-season graduation to the FIA Formula 2 Championship. Goethe cites Sebastian Vettel as his racing hero and aims to become a Formula 1 World Champion.
02

Early Career

Goethe began his single-seater career in 2019 after competing in international karting, including the European and World Championships in the OK class. He completed his first full single-seater season in the 2020 Spanish F4 Championship with MP Motorsport, securing six podiums and a maiden win at Paul Ricard to finish 5th overall. In 2022, he entered his first GT race alongside his father, winning the 24H of Dubai in the GT4 class. His focus then returned to single-seaters in the Euroformula Open Championship with Team Motopark. Goethe utterly dominated the 2022 season, taking seven pole positions, eleven victories, and eighteen podium finishes to clinch the championship title with two races to spare. He also made his partial debut in the FIA Formula 3 Championship that year with Campos Racing.
03

2023 Season

Goethe moved to Trident for his first full-time campaign in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship. He delivered a strong rookie performance, highlighted by a commanding Feature Race victory at Silverstone, a moment he described as a "redemption" that started his good run of form in the second half of the season. He finished the F3 season 8th overall in the Drivers' Championship. His performance throughout the year led to him joining the Red Bull Junior Team in November 2023.
04

2024 Season

Goethe returned to Campos Racing for his second full season in the 2024 Formula 3 Championship and immediately became a title contender. He put together a consistently strong campaign, which included a run of twelve consecutive points finishes and a podium in the Barcelona Sprint Race. The standout victory was the Imola Sprint Race, where he was ultimately reinstated as the victor after an initial penalty was reversed.
In August, Goethe accepted an opportunity to step up to the Formula 2 Championship with MP Motorsport, forfeiting his F3 title challenge in the final round. He adapted well to the higher category during his partial F2 season, with his best result being a 4th-place finish in the Feature Race in Lusail, Qatar. He finished the F3 season 7th overall with 94 points, despite missing the finale.
05

2025 Season

Oliver Goethe's first full season in the Formula 2 Championship with MP Motorsport proved to be a challenging one, with the final results not fully reflecting his pace and effort. He finished the season 17th in the Drivers' Championship with 23 points. A core issue in the first half of the campaign was inconsistent one-lap pace, which often compromised his starting positions. Despite the struggles, he demonstrated strong race craft, achieving his best results with two 4th-place finishes in the Sprint Races at Sakhir and Spa-Francorchamps, complemented by points finishes in Feature Races at Imola and Monaco. Goethe noted significant improvements in his speed toward the final rounds, highlighting that the potential was evident even if the final championship standing was below expectation.
06

Outlook

His primary goal for the remaining two rounds is to convert this improved pace into strong points finishes and conclude the year on a high note.
