The League of Legends 2017 World Championship wrapped up this past weekend with a spectacular finale in the Bird’s Nest arena in Beijing, China. Samsung Galaxy wowed fans as they steamrolled over three-time winners SKT Telecom T1 in a straight sets finale, denying legendary LCK star Faker his fourth Summoner’s Cup in the process.
Despite another South Korean victory – the fifth in a row – this was no ordinary Worlds. SKT finally showed they were vulnerable, Chinese teams looked stronger than ever, and underdogs from the EU and NA LCS gave frontrunners a serious run for their money in the quarter finals.
