The Championship stakes are ramped up this weekend at the San Marino Grand Prix...
The 2013 MotoGP season is now into its final third. When the lights go out at Misano on Sunday afternoon, the 13th of 18 races will be underway as we move one step closer to crowning this year's eventual champion.
Marc Márquez remains the man to beat, sitting 30 points clear at the top of the general classification and in piping hot form. The rookie leads his team-mate Dani Pedrosa with defending World Champion Jorge Lorenzo further back still, but sporting a new seamless shift gearbox on his Yamaha this weekend which he hopes will make a difference in the pursuit of the Honda pairing.

Pedrosa's third place at Silverstone was his 120th career Grand Prix podium – just one less than seven-times World Champion Phil Read.

Scott Redding's Moto2 victory in the last round – the British GP – brought the number of wins in the intermediate class for riders from Great Britain to 99 in total.

Márquez's result at Silverstone was his 50th career GP podium, making him the youngest rider in the sport's history to pass the milestone. He took the record from Pedrosa.

KTM riders have won the last 15 Moto3 races in succession. The longest consecutive run of victories by a manufacturer is 19, by Honda in the 1990 and 1991 seasons.
