MotoGP’s most ‘out-there’ liveries
Take a look at some of the most striking, weird and wonderful designs ever seen in MotoGP.
Everybody loves a great racing livery, whether it's a blinged up bike, a rider with a funky set of leathers, or an amusing helmet design. There have been some beautiful classics down the years in MotoGP, but we decided to focus on the alternatives and bring you a selection of some of the most striking set ups in recent years.
Marco Melandri the superhero
The Italian turned in a fantastic effort in 2004 at Estoril, Portugal when he rolled out on his Yamaha Tech 3 machine in a full-on Spiderman themed outfit.
Colin Edwards goes commando (not that way!)
We should've said camo, really. The Texan showed his support for American troops at the 2014 Indianapolis GP by donning a set of camouflage leathers, in addition to his usual patriotic US helmet design.
Suzuki step into the future
The Suzuki factory team went all futuristic at Misano in 2011 when Troy Lee Designs put together an impressive mirror-like livery for the team.
Casey Stoner all in white
The Australian won his home GP at Phillip Island for six years straight up until his retirement at the end of 2012, and used to take the opportunity to put on a special livery. His 2009 Aussie effort was a particularly striking crowd pleaser.
Valentino Rossi’s face helmet
Still the best helmet design of all time! It's a bit of a tradition for Rossi to unveil a special helmet at his home round at Mugello every year, and his 2008 version was a fan favourite. It's easy to see why!
