Big waves and bigger fish steal the show as sharks force the cancellation of the final event of the Australian leg of No Contest. Join us backstage at the Margaret River Pro right here.

The 2018 edition of the Margaret River Pro will long be remembered as the event that never was. After two rounds of men's competition and with the ladies making it up to the quarter-finals, a pair of shark attacks a short drive up the coast saw competition abandoned, with points and prize money split between those still remaining in the draw.

The event being scratched is a shame, as outside of competition the world's best made the most of a few incredible days of action as the swell well and truly came to the party. From heaving barrels at North Point and The Box, and the usual selection of fine dining, wineries and wildlife, it was a window that provided so much, yet so little at the same time.

In the final episode of No Contest for the Australian contest trilogy our man Jacob Wooden and Stab's Dylan Roberts caught up with trials winner and shark spotter Dave Delroy-Carr and hung out with local legend and global freesurf talent Jay Davies. Naturally we posted up in the rocks to shoot all the best action from guys like Michel Bourez, Adriano de SouzaJulian Wilson, Jordy Smith and Mikey Wright, as well as grilling the rest of the world tour caravan on all sorts of fun and games.

Margaret River had everything but a result, and we sincerely hope in future the tour keeps including the west coast in its lap of Oz. We've had a blast these past six weeks bringing No Contest together, and can't wait to see you again soon in Rio de Janeiro for the Brazilian event. Till then, hit play on the video at the top of this page and soak up the best from the west.
