Hi everyone,
We left from France on Monday and it took us 3 days to get to Sachsenring because my dad was driving like an old grandma haha. When we got to the track we picked up our passes and parked our van. Then me and a few other Rookies went for a ride around the track on our bikes to remember where it goes.
In practice the bike just didn't want to turn into corners and I really couldn't get a good line. So all I could do was just ride the session the way it was and run-in the bike. For qualifying we changed the suspension settings a little and it helped. I managed to do a reasonable time but it was still not good enough. For second quali' I just left it how it was so I just had to ride harder. I ended up going faster and I finished in 12th spot. After qualifying me and a few others rode our bikes to the big spectator camping hill to see what was happening there.
Race 1: Didn't go so good for me. I got a good start but I couldn't go around the corners as fast as other riders. The whole race, the rear end of my bike was sliding and couldn't go fast. In the end I finished 11th which I was angry with. I told the suspension guys what it was doing and they changed it a bit again for Race 2.
My start was good again but I had the same problem as yesterday. The bike was sliding everywhere and I ended up finishing 9th but I was still angry with that. After the race I went to the Shark helmet truck where a few of my friends were so I could cool off a bit haha. When we left we had to go straight to Frankfurt because we had to drop my sister off at the airport to go back home.
The weekend for me was not so good but I made a few points and am now 10th in the championship and that's the best I've been all year and hopefully in Brno i can move a bit further up. In between this race and Brno I'll be doing a race of the Alpe Adria Cup in Czech and I'll keep yous updated.
