Remembering his time in the feeder series, the 2024 MotoGP™ season standout newcomer Pedro Acosta said, “It was a very fun time in which I made great friends and I had a lot of fun but I also suffered a lot at the same time. There are few opportunities as good as competing in the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup. It's a championship that has a lot of visibility and that most of the teams in the world are looking at. Good riders come out of it and they will be even better if they manage their careers well.”
There are currently 29 former Rookies in the premier World Championships, including 9 in MotoGP™. Ex Rookies have already produced over 200 GP race wins, 9 riders that started in the Rookies Cup are World Championship winners across Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP™ – including Pedro Acosta, Jorge Martín, Joan Mir and Brad Binder.
“I remember I was in a critical moment because resources were running out at home so the pressure was very high,” commented the 2020 Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup champion Pedro Acosta. “Also, I think it's a stage that all young riders should experience as it makes you appreciate what you have, where you are and where you can go.”
