At the time of his death, Salom ranked 10th in the 2016 Moto2 Championship point standings. The fact that his family owns a Yamaha dealership explains why he was only 2 when he started riding a PW50.
"I really enjoyed it right from the start and have great memories of that," he recalls. He still loves riding and when not on his bike he makes use of his Island home to enjoy water sports as well as training in the gym.
At school he likes social studies and maths. All these things are just distractions though. "What I like most in life is to ride my motorcycle.
I love both the racing and the testing and practice. I can not wait for the start of the season."
