Mattia's racing hero is Kevin Schwantz and at school his favourite subject is science but since he was very young he would rather be riding than studying. "When I was a child I liked to watch my dad and my uncle race and when I was 6 years old my father bought me a pocketbike and so begin my passion! My Dad was my mechanic and thanks to him and my family I could carry on my career."
"My best race ever was in 2012 in the my rookie year of Pre-GP Italian championship at the Misano World Circuit. I started in 12th position in very bad weather conditions for a wet race. From the beginning I found immediately the right feeling with the bike and with the track. I overtook my rivals and I won with a large lead over the second. It was a great race!
In 2014 he rode well enough at the Selection Event to be invite to join the Rookies Cup for 2015 but he also learnt that he needed to make some changes. "I learnt that I was too much impulsive and this brought me to do a bad season, I learnt to think before doing things in race."
"My best race of 2014 was in Vallelunga. I started from the 1st position and I made the holeshot. I found immediately the feeling with the bike. Me and another rider had got a large lead from the group of pursuers, but in the last lap I crashed with an highside, still it was my best race."
"For me the best race of 2015 was Silverstone Race 2. It started to rain as we were getting ready it was clear that it was going to be a wet race and in my head I got the conviction to do a good race."
"I made a good fist lap because I went from 12 place and on the second lap I was third. But then in the third lap I crashed but managed to keep the engine going and I restarted the race from the last position. I Recovered up to eighth but I crashed again and I went back to last again I recovered another time and I finished eighth. I like this race because I realised that if I want I can do it all."

"In 2015 I learn a lot for improve my self in the build up to the races. I really like the ambiance of the Red Bull Rookies Cup because it's similar to a big family. I loved the Grand Prix tracks, I really like the fast sections because if you havent the bravery you not are fast."
He knows that only if he really does gain from previous experience will he succeed. "My expectation of the 2016 season is to do the best I can and finish the Rookies Cup in the top 3 and win the Italian Championship. I know that racing is very hard work and I am prepared for that as I want eventually to win the MotoGP World Championship."
A great aim and he intends to enjoy the journey. "Racing and winning is the best satisfaction because it means that you have do the best setup in your bike, work good with the team. It's a satisfaction for all the people that work for me and follow me."
